After more than three decades of volunteering with the West Ferris Minor Hockey Association Jim Hall has announced his retirement.
Jim joined the West Ferris Minor Hockey Association as an experienced referee and in 1988 became a trainer with a Bantam house league team.
But that wasn’t enough.
Jim had more to give.
He joined the West Ferris executive as a director in the 1991-92 season. His first role was the position of equipment room manager.
Throughout the 15 years he held the position Jim has helped countless players and teams with all of their equipment needs.
It was in 2006 where Jim took over as the president of the association which he held for 10 years.
During these years of volunteering he devoted countless hours per week to the sport and those who love it. Jim was instrumental in directing the association into the success it is today. He was involved in all aspects of the association from registration, tryouts and including all other minor hockey activities within the association and the district.
As a director, Jim received West Ferris Hockey Associations’ highest honour award "The Bill Evan’s Award.”
This award is presented to an individual whose ideals are directed to the betterment of hockey for boys and girls through his dedication and service in promoting the ideas of the West Ferris Minor Hockey Association.
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank Jim Hall for his service and dedication to the sport and to the association. Your hard work has helped countless hockey players and we thank you.
